Auto CPAP Machines

Auto CPAP machines are an excellent solution for fluctuating breathing patterns, allergies or a lack of adequate air pressure from a standard CPAP. Typically, your sleep technician will recommend either a CPAP or auto CPAP machine based on the results of your sleep study. Auto CPAP machines use Automatic Positive Airway Pressure (APAP) to deliver two ranges of air pressure while you’re sleeping. With a low range and high range pressure setting, an auto CPAP machine fluctuates between these two settings to determine the optimum pressure level during your sleep. This pressure level is based on an algorithm used to calculate the amount of air pressure you need based on your breathing patterns.

Because we often change our breathing patterns throughout our sleep, an auto CPAP machine can make it easier for your to get an uninterrupted period of sleep. For example, when you roll onto your side, an auto CPAP machine detects this and lowers the air pressure.

With this type of machine, you can get a more customized range of pressure settings. For example, during allergy season you may need a higher level of pressure and your auto CPAP machine will detect this and make the adjustment automatically.

Our goal is to make sure you’re getting the best sleep possible and because of this we’re here to answer your questions about APAP and auto CPAP machines.
