Types of CPAP Masks

At CheapCPAPSupplies.com we have over 300 masks for you to choose from, and we know we can help you find the perfect mask to fit your needs. That being said, sorting through 300 masks can be overwhelming. To help you get a better idea of which mask will be perfect for you, here is a brief description of the 5 basic mask types that we offer from major manufacturer's such as Phillips Respironics, ResMed, Fischer & Paykel and Devilbiss.

ResMed Mirage Quattro Full Face Mask

Full Face Masks

Full face CPAP masks are designed to cover both your mouth and your nose. They are generally used by people who breathe through their mouth who would prefer to have the option to breathe through their mouth and nose. Users of full face masks, usually also have not had success with a nasal mask and chinstrap combination. These masks are traditionally heavier than other masks, but can be very effective.

ResMed Mirage Liberty Hybrid Mask

Hybrid Masks

If you breathe through both your mouth and your nose, but think that Full Face Masks are too bulky, a Hybrid mask may be perfect for you. A Hybrid Mask is a hybrid in the truest sense of the word, combing nasal pillows with an oral cushion. There is a clear field of vision as Hybrids do not have a forehead support.

Fisher & Paykel Brevida Nasal Mask

Nasal Masks

Nasal Masks creates a triangle shaped seal around your nose and his held in place with headgear. Unlike Hybrid, Oral and Full Face Masks, Nasal Masks do not cover your mouth. Nasal Masks are very popular because of their ease of use and comfort. They are also the original type of CPAP Mask.  Some patients like to couple these masks with a chinstrap so that they ensure they only breathe through their nose to get the most effectice use.

Respironics Dreamwear Nasal Pillows Mask

Nasal Pillow Masks

The Nasal pillow CPAP Masks are the absolutely most minimal option available. The Nasal Pillow Masks seal around your nostrils with a soft pillow. The Nasal Pillow systems are held in place by headgear. Though the pillows are light, and soft, some patients find these to be irritating so traditional Nasal Masks may work better for them. However, because of their minimalist nature, Nasal Pillow Masks continue to grow in popularity.

Fisher & Paykel Oracle Oral Mask

Oral Masks

Oral Masks use an oval cushion to deliver oxygen directly to the mouth. They seal around the mouth, and unlike other types of masks, they have a flap rests between your teeth and lips to help keep the mask in place. If  you are a mouth breather, have a deviated septum, or experience frequent nasal allergies, this type of mask will work great for you.

Please note before your order: Product lines vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and mask sizes may differ.

Example: A medium mask from one manufacturer may be a size large in another.  Please refer to the mask sizing gauges available or e-mail us at info@CheapCPAPSupplies.com with any questions.
